The SDBP is a private initiative of Slovene and Dutch businesspersons in Slovenia and was officially launched on October 7, 2003 at the Ljubljana Castle during a reception, hosted by the Netherlands Embassy on the occasion of Bilateralni Fokus 2003.
The Platform is an independent and non-profit association, and focuses at growing international business relations in Slovenia in general and developing and/or strengthening economic relations between Slovenia and The Netherlands in particular. To that end the SDBP organizes regular gatherings where members convene and share their thoughts and experiences. At every meeting a guest speaker is invited, who gives a short presentation or discussion about a subject interesting to all present. Furthermore, the association organizes special events throughout the year such as business lunches or company visits if and when a special opportunity arises. Though principally a Dutch/Slovene initiative, the Slovene Dutch Business Platform is open to the entire Slovene and international business community in Slovenia, whether residential or non-residential.
The SDBP is managed by an Executive Committee and supervised by a Supervisory Board of which the Netherlands Embassador to Slovenia Mr. Jan Henneman, as well as Mr. Miloš Kovačič of Krka and Mr. Peter Kraljič of McKinsey are members. Since its introduction the SDBP has registered over 60 members, our members include well respected business people and their companies span a wide range of activities.
