Slovenia's largest retailer Mercator announced on Wednesday, 21 June that it has begun construction of a retail centre in the Serbian city of Novi Sad. The EUR 33m investment is scheduled to be opened in the first half of 2007.
The building, commissioned by Mercator's Serbian subsidiary Mercator Srbija, will span 20,000 square metres and create 500 jobs, the company added.
The three-storey building will include a Mercator shopping centre and other Mercator lines, such as the Intersport sports shop, Modiana fashion outlets, a perfumery, restaurant and a bar, as well as offer 60 to-let facilities.
